MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING. Vice Chair Tanner Dobrovolsky called the meeting to order at 4:35 <br />2. All Advisory Board Members gave brief introductions of themselves. <br />3. No one presented during citizen's forum. <br />4. A motion was made to approve the June 9, 2021 meeting minutes by Emily Temple and seconded by Glee <br />Emmite, motion carried. <br />5. Committee Activity Reports <br />a. Promotion- Emily Temple gave a rundown on the downtown events committee meeting. Downtown <br />Mini Golf, and Hatch Chile, and Movies in the Park with an Elvis theme <br />b. Organization -Tanner Dobrovolsky said he would be available to help with volunteers for the events. <br />c. Economic Vitality — Cheri Bedford shared the Distrx app continues to have businesses get updated <br />information. A small flyer with Distrx info was distributed to the participants of the Tour de Paris. Will <br />Walker has been working on a downtown maintenance guide for property owners. Mr Walker is also <br />finalizing the Distrx walking tour information. <br />d. Design Glee Emmite gave a report on the design committee workings and the planters that will be <br />rearranged and replanted. She also gave an update that some mural histories are being researched, with the <br />Henry P. Mayer facing the Grand Avenue next to 107 is scheduled for a rehab in mid-September. <br />6. Coordinators Report - <br />Councilman Pankaj introduced himself and expressed his appreciation to the board. <br />Cheri reviewed the Texas Downtown Association President's awards page and asked the board members <br />to look over the categories and determine if Paris could nominate some project or rehabilitation. <br />The City has been in discussion with a local music promoter on a potential event for downtown, a music <br />series. Follow up on this idea will be coming as details will be fleshed out. There is potential for <br />fundraising for the PDA that will be looked into. <br />Andrew Mack, City Planner presented the idea about a sculpture walk in downtown. He has had a very <br />successful program in another city and thinks it would be a good fit for Paris. The start of the program <br />would need to be funded by grants and the staff has reviewed the criteria from Texas Commission of the <br />Arts for the designation of a Cultural District in Paris. This will be researched further. The Advisory <br />Board gave their full support and offered to help in any way possible. <br />7. The following slate of officers were nominated and selected. <br />
