HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES <br />107 E KAUFMAN ST <br />Auust 11, 2021 <br />PARIS TEXAS 75460 <br />Present <br />Chris Dux, Chairman <br />Laura Caffey, Vice Chair <br />Linda Vandiver, Secretary <br />Glee Emmite <br />Matthew Coyle <br />Jessica Holtman <br />Staff. Cheri Bedford <br />Council Liaison. Linda Knox <br />1. Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />2. The July 26, 2021 minutes were approved by acclamation. <br />Absent <br />Jennifer Long <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Guests <br />Robin Elam <br />3. Action was taken on the Certificates of Appropriateness for 508 S. Main <br />Ms. Elam owner and resident of 508 S. Main St appeared before the commission to <br />described the rehabilitation projects. The plans are to removing the previous additions <br />that were not original to the home. The list includes removal of the small car port on <br />the south side, an entry added to the external front door of the original home that <br />extends onto the front port, and the west portion of the front porch that has been <br />enclosed by the previous owner. There will also be a several roof and soffit repairs. <br />A motion was made to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness as presented by <br />Commissioner Coyle, seconded by Commissioner Caffey, motion carried <br />4. Commissioner Emmite made the motion to approve a fagade grant for $1000 to Robyn Elam <br />for the repairs of the home located at 508 S. Main St. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Vandiver, motion carried <br />5. A motion was made by Chairman Dux to approve the Tax Exemption Agreement for the <br />Rehabilitation of a Historic Structure located at 508 S. Main St. Commissioner Coyle <br />seconded the motion, motion carried. <br />6. Ms. Bedford gave an update on events coming up. She requested the Commission look at <br />forming a committee to begin the National Register boundary updates.
