HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES <br />107 E KAUFMAN ST <br />September 8, 2021 <br />PARIS, TEXAS 75460 <br />Present <br />Chris Dux, Chairman <br />Laura Caffey, Vice Chair <br />Linda Vandiver, Secretary <br />Glee Emmite <br />Matthew Coyle <br />Jessica Holtman <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Staff: Cheri Bedford <br />Council Liaison. Linda Knox <br />1. Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. <br />Absent <br />Jennifer Long <br />Guests <br />Randy Hider <br />Ellen Green <br />2. The August 11, 2021 minutes were approved by acclamation with the correction of <br />Commissioner Holtman last name. <br />3. Ms. Ellen Green, owner of 102 Clarksville was present to answer questions about the <br />rehabilitation project and request the payment of $2500 for the completion of the fagade <br />renovations. The commission reviewed the finished project. A motion was made to approve <br />the Fagade Grant reimbursement of $2500 for the restoration of 102 Clarksville by <br />Commissioner Coyle, seconded by Commissioner Emmite. Motion Carries <br />4. The Commission reviewed the agreement for the Tax Exemption for the Rehabilitation of <br />Historic Property submitted by Ms. Ellen Green, owner of 102 Clarksville St. A motion was <br />made to approve Tax Exemption Agreement by Commissioner Vandiver, seconded by <br />Commission Holtman, motion carried. <br />Mr. Randy Hider presented a plan for new construction of a single family home on the vacant <br />lot located at 120 Long Avenue. The commission reviewed the house plans and determined <br />that it was architecturally appropriate for the district, and would match the district Design <br />Standards for new construction. A motion was made by Commissioner Holtman to approve <br />Mr. Hiders house plan to be built on the property 120 E. Long Ave, seconded by <br />Commissioner Caffey. Motion Carried. <br />6. Mr. Hider requested a residential fagade grant for the home to be built on 120 E. Long Ave. <br />A motion was made Commissioner Matthews to approve a $1000 Fagade grant to Mr. Hider <br />for new construction, seconded by Commissioner Emmite, motion carried <br />7. Cheri Bedford gave an update on activities happening in downtown. She invited the <br />commission to attend the Joint Work Session with the Traffic Commission, Main Street <br />Advisory Board, and the City Council held on Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council <br />Chambers. The topic will be providing feedback on an initiative to a change the stop <br />requirement in downtown from traffic signals to stop signs and the impact it will have. <br />
