SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />107 E KAUFMAN ST <br />PARIS TEXAS 75460 <br />MONDAYS OCTOBER 25, 2021 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />Present: <br />Chris Dux, Chairman <br />Laura Caffey, Vice Chair <br />Linda Vandiver, Secretary <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Matt Coyle <br />Jennifer Long <br />Glee Emmite <br />Cheri Bedford, Staff Liaison <br />Guests: <br />David Deleon, property owner <br />Absent: <br />Jessica Holtman, Alternate <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Deleon, owner of the home located at 744 3rd NW was present to answer questions. He <br />lives next door, and he purchased the home after it burned. The house has been condemned, <br />and has been taken to Building and Standards Commission, who put orders to have it <br />demolished. The insurance designated it a total loss. He was requesting demolition. He <br />informed the commission that he was interested in architectural salvage. <br />After brief discussion on the elements that were left that could be salvaged, Chairman Dux <br />made a motion to approve the demolition of the house. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Emmite, motion carried. <br />Ms. Bedford brought the fagade grant for 648 Yd SE to the commissioners in lieu of Ms. <br />Ellen Green. She informed them that Ms. Greens grant request was submitted with the <br />Certificate of Appropriateness request, but didn't make it on the agenda at the October 13, <br />2021 meeting. The commission had approved the plans for rehabilitation of the historic <br />landmark, and Ms. Greens $1000 grant fund request was to assist with the replacement of old <br />deteriorated siding with new wooden siding. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Caffey to approve the fagade grant of $1000 for the <br />property located at 648 Yd SE to assist with the replacement siding.
