Item No. 7 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br />DATE: January 10, 2022. <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards and Commissions, adopted by City <br />Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in June. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Board Member Emily Temple was appointed in June of 2020 to serve on <br />the Main Street Advisory Board. Recently, Ms. Temple resigned from the Main Street Advisory <br />Board leaving an unexpired term of June 30, 2023. <br />In October of 2021, Mr. Don Yarbrough resigned from the Main Street Advisory Board. At that <br />time, staff advertised for the vacancy and received two applications. On November 8, 2021, City <br />Council selected Greg Kee to serve in that unexpired term. The other applicant was William <br />Walker, who had previously served on Main Street Advisory Board and is still interested in <br />serving on that board. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint William Walker to serve the unexpired term of Ms. Emily <br />Temple on the Main Street Advisory Board. <br />
