RESOLUTION NO. 2022-017 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH MVBA, LLC dba ACCOUNTS <br />RECEIVABLE COLLECTIONS GROUP FOR THE COLLECTION OF <br />DELINQUENT EMERGENCY MEDICAL ACCOUNTS OWED TO THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN ALL DOCUMENTS <br />RELATED TO THE CONTRACT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas ("City') wishes to enter into a <br />contract with MVBA, LLC dba Accounts Receivable Collections Group ("Firm") for the <br />collection of delinquent emergency medical accounts owed to the City of Paris, Texas; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes the Firm has the qualifications, competency, <br />and experience necessary to fulfill the contract; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is unable to perform this function and efficiently collect its own <br />delinquent emergency medical accounts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes this contract for the collection of delinquent <br />accounts receivable as attached herein as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference <br />is in the city's best interest, allowing the City to recover delinquent emergency medical <br />service accounts and interest that are essential revenues; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Contract and all other <br />documents in connection therewith on behalf of the City of Paris, substantially according to <br />the terms and conditions set forth in Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS THAT: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Contract and all other <br />documents in connection therewith on behalf of the City of Paris, substantially according to <br />the terms and conditions set forth in Exhibit A. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately after its passage in <br />accordance with the provisions of law. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of March, 2022. <br />
