RESOLUTION NO. 2022-017 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH MVBA, LLC dba ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE COLLECTIONS GROUP FOR THE COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT EMERGENCY MEDICAL ACCOUNTS OWED TO THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE CONTRACT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas ("City') wishes to enter into a contract with MVBA, LLC dba Accounts Receivable Collections Group ("Firm") for the collection of delinquent emergency medical accounts owed to the City of Paris, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes the Firm has the qualifications, competency, and experience necessary to fulfill the contract; and WHEREAS, the City is unable to perform this function and efficiently collect its own delinquent emergency medical accounts; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes this contract for the collection of delinquent accounts receivable as attached herein as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference is in the city's best interest, allowing the City to recover delinquent emergency medical service accounts and interest that are essential revenues; and WHEREAS, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Contract and all other documents in connection therewith on behalf of the City of Paris, substantially according to the terms and conditions set forth in Exhibit A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Contract and all other documents in connection therewith on behalf of the City of Paris, substantially according to the terms and conditions set forth in Exhibit A. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately after its passage in accordance with the provisions of law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of March, 2022.
