through this program. In addition, to qualify for this program, City Management will be adopting
a new Standard Operating Guideline (SOG) in the EMS for Charity Care. The HHSC requires a
certain SOG to qualify for this program as an EMS service. We have included a copy of it for the
City Council's information in this packet.
BUDGET:
Depending of the type of care provided, there is a 6% - 15% contingency fee. This will be taken
from revenue realized through this program. This is revenue we are currently not receiving, so the
fee for PCG's services will not be an added expense to the budget, but rather a deduction from
new revenue we will begin to receive.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a Charity Care Policy and approve the agreement with Public Consulting Group, LLC,
for administrative services under the Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment Program (TASPP).
