Item No. 12 Memorandum TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council Grayson Path, City Manager Robert Vine, Assistant City Manager FROM: Doug Harris, Director of Utilities SUBJECT: WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT PRESENTATION DATE: April 11, 2022 BACKGROUND: The Agreement for Professional Services contract with Garver, for the wastewater treatment facility comprehensive rehabilitation project, was approved by City Council at the February 8, 2021 meeting. On October 11, 2021, Lance Klement, P.E., Garver Project Manager, provided a presentation to City Council pertaining to progress of the project and the plans moving forward. The Garver presentation, at the October 11 th meeting, included the preliminary design report, front- end specifications and contract documents, and 30% completion of engineering drawings. STATUS OF ISSUE: Much work has been completed since City Council was last briefed on progress of the project. Monthly planning workshops and design coordination meetings have continued in conjunction with Utilities Department staff and the Garver engineering team, and will continue until the engineering design phase is complete. Currently, 90% of engineering design has been achieved, with 100% completion anticipated on May 20, 2022. The Garver team will be presenting a progress update and current status of the wastewater treatment plant project to City Council, providing information on the next steps to be expected.
