No. 10 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem & City Council <br />FROM: Grayson Path, City Manager <br />Stephanie Harris, City Attorney <br />Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Updated Policies and Procedures for Boards and Commissions <br />DATE: May 23, 2022 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 9, 2022, the City Council reviewed an updated Policies and Procedures for Boards and <br />Commissions. The City Council was approving of the document as drafted, except a request was <br />made to allow for excused absences not to count against the attendance requirements. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: <br />The following language has been added to Qualifications, Section 1.d: <br />"Attendance at a minimum of 75 percent of all regular meetings beginning July 1 of each year and <br />ending June 30 of the subsequent year. unless otherwise excused by the remaining members of the <br />Board or Commission." <br />This language mirrors that which is being considered as an edit for the City Council's attendance <br />language in the Charter. <br />BUDGET: <br />N/A <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Authorize the Resolution approving the new Policies and Procedures as amended. <br />2. Request additional edits and/or reject the policy, <br />
