Item No. 23 <br />I' v <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL LIAISON APPOINTMENTS <br />TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />DATE: June 27, 2022 <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures allow for Council Members to serve as liaisons to <br />Boards and Commissions, should Council feel it necessary. Below is a list of Boards and <br />Commissions which have City Council Liaisons: <br />1. PEDC Bylaws (Section 6.06) require the Mayor, the City Manager, the Lamar County <br />Judge, the President of Paris Junior College, the President of the Lamar County Chamber <br />of Commerce serve as Ex -officio Members. For the past several years, City Council has <br />also selected a City Council Member to serve as liaison to PEDC. <br />2. Airport Advisory Board <br />3. Band Commission <br />4. Building & Standards Commission <br />5. Historic Preservation Commission <br />6. Library Advisory Board <br />7. Main Street Advisory Board <br />8. Planning and Zoning Commission <br />9. Traffic Commission <br />In addition, we have the following government entities which will need a City Council <br />liaison: <br />10. Ark -Tex Council of Governments Bylaws requires a member of the City Council serve, <br />which has routinely been the Mayor. ATCOG also allows a member of the Council <br />to serve on the Executive Committee to the Board of Directors. <br />11. Visitors & Convention Council - Resolution No. 1737 requires the Mayor, City <br />Manager and one Council Member serve on Visitors & Convention Council. The <br />
