RESOLUTION NO. 85-103 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is empowered and tasked with the responsibility of ascertaining the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in its locality for each craft or type of workmen or mechanic needed to execute a public works construction project; and, WHEREAS, excluded from such wage rate is maintenance work; and, WHEREAS, it is the duty of the City Council to insure that not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for work required on a public works proj ect and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for legal holiday and overtime work shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by or on behalf of the City engaged in the construction of public works, exclusive of maintenance work, shall be so paid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the hourly rate, as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, is ascertained and established as the general prevailing rate per hour for time actually spent working on public works construction projects to be used in calculating the minimum of per diem wages to be paid for such work; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the prevailing rate of per diem wages herein established be inserted in public works construction contract bid documents and that the Director of Finance insure that not less than this general prevailing rate of per diem wages is paid by such public works construction contractors and subcontractors.
