HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES <br />107 E KAUFMAN ST <br />PARIS, TEXAS 75460 <br />WEDNESDAY, June 8, 2022 <br />Present <br />Absent: <br />Chris Dux, Chair <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Laura Caffey, Vice Chair <br />Linda Vandiver, Secretary <br />Guests: <br />Glee Emmite <br />Karol Lyn Moore <br />Jennifer Long <br />Suzanna Coyle <br />Matt Coyle <br />Jessica Holtman- Alternate <br />Cheri Bedford, HPO <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />The minutes of the May 11, 2022 were approved by acclamation. <br />Ms. Karol Lyn Moore presented her request for reimbursement for the work completed on 131- <br />135 Lamar. Ms. Moore project included removal of all pressed metal pieces covering over her <br />transom windows on her property and painting the canopy and repairing what was needed. This <br />work was complete. She explained the further they got into the project, there were some <br />windows that were missing or so badly damaged they would need an appropriate replacement. <br />At this point they were covered back up as a temporary measure and the metal was painted <br />black until she could determine the next steps for replacement. The majority of the original <br />windows were replaced with a 1 over 1 configuration so that most likely will be what she will <br />investigate. <br />A motion to approve a $2500 Fagade Grant for the uncovering of the transom windows <br />and the painting of trim was made by Commissioner Coyle, seconded by Commissioner Emmite, <br />motion carried. <br />The commission reviewed photos of the new home built by Randy Hider located at 120 Long <br />Ave, in the HD -2 Church Street Historic District. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Long approve the Verification of Construction for <br />the New Historically compatible construction of a single family house on 120 Long Ave, <br />verifying the structure was built according to the Certificate of Appropriateness. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Coyle, motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Vandiver to approve the $1000 grant for the <br />historically compatible new home construction on the property located at 120 Long ave. Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Long, motion carried. <br />The Certificate of Appropriateness: 44 E. Long Ave was tabled for further information. <br />
