<br />'" <br />, <br /> <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br /> <br />This contract, entered into this 9th day of September, <br />1985, by and between the City of Paris, a municipal corpor- <br />ation of the Lamar County, Texas, hereinafter referred to as <br />CITY, and Cedric Townsend, an attorney licensed to practice <br />law by the State Bar of Texas, a citizen of the City of <br />Paris, Lamar County, Texas, hereinafter called TOWNSEND, <br />wherein the parties contract and agree as follows: <br />1. That TOWNSEND agrees to serve as Municipal Judge <br />as needed between October I, 1985, and September 30, 1987, <br />said service as Municipal Judge to be in accordance with the <br />Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of <br /> <br />Texas. <br /> <br />2. That CITY agrees to pay TOWNSEND as compensation <br />for his service as Municipal Judge at the rate of $37.50 per <br />hour through September 30, 1986, with a maximum monthly <br />compensation of $1,000.00, The hourly rate beginning <br />October 1, 1986, shall be as budgeted by the City Council of <br />the City of Paris, but not less than $37.50 per hour. <br />3, That TOWNSEND agrees to take the training required <br />by State Statute and CITY agrees to pay expenses connected <br />with such training. Training time is not compensable. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused the <br />contract to be executed this 9th day of September, 1985, <br /> <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />
