Section 2 <br /> Frozen Benefit <br /> 2.01 Eligibility for Frozen Benefit. A Firefighter will be eligible for a frozen benefit on or after <br /> his Normal Retirement Date or Early Retirement Date. <br /> 2.02 Amount of Frozen Benefit. The monthiy benefit payable to a Firefighter who was <br /> credited with Service prior to the Effective Date, on or after his Normal Retirement <br /> Date or Early Retirement Date shall be an amount equal to $94.00 multiplied by the <br /> Firefighter's total years of Service as of the Effective Date. <br /> 2.03 Normal Form of Benefit. Unless the Firefighter elects an optional form of payment <br /> under Section 5, the benefit under this section shall be paid through the date of the <br /> Firefighter's death. In the event the Firefighter's death precedes that of his Spouse, <br /> two thirds of such frozen benefit shall be continued after the Firefighter's death to an <br /> Eligible Surviving Spouse for the Spouse's lifetime. An Eligible Surviving Spouse of a <br /> retired, disabled or terminated Firefighter must have been married to the Firefighter <br /> at the time of the earlier of (a) the Firefighter's Termination of Service, or (b) the <br /> commencement of benefits to the Firefighter, and remained continuously married to <br /> such Firefighter until the time of his death. <br /> 3 <br />
