RESOLUTION NO. 84 -030 <br />WHEREAS, the State of Texas is planning its <br />Sesquicentennial celebration; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris wishes <br />to plan coordinating activities with said Sesquicentennial <br />celebration and deems it appropriate to establish the <br />Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of Paris with members <br />appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council <br />with the following duties: promote Sesquicentennial activ- <br />ities, educate the public as to Sesquicentennial activities, <br />coordinate local Sesquicentennial activities with State wide <br />activities and act as the clearinghouse for all City of <br />Paris Sesquicentennial activities; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that the Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of <br />Paris be and the same is hereby established with membership <br />appointed by the Mayor of the City of Paris and confirmed by <br />the City Council of the City of Paris with the following <br />duties: promote Sesquicentennial activities, educate the <br />public as to Sesquicentennial activities, coordinate local <br />Sesquicentennial activities with State wide activities and <br />act as the clearing house for all City of Paris <br />Sesquicentennial activities. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that members of the <br />Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of Paris appointed by <br />the Mayor of the City of Paris being, Francis Ellis, Sue <br />Smith, Sherrie Langston, Roger Woods, Barry Russell, Dennis <br />Hodgekiss and Linda Suarez, be, and they are hereby <br />confirmed. <br />Passed and adopted this 14th day of May, 1984. <br />Joe Graham , Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />H. eene, C31ty Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />K. aynes, City Attorney <br />
