Motion carried 6-0.
Discussion and review of Home Occupation restrictions.
Andrew Mack states this item is for discussion only. He was approached by a building
general contractor wishing to remodel a residence in order to open a beauty salon. The
current City ordinance prohibits barber shops and beauty salons as a home occupation. It
may be appropriate to review our ordinance restrictions on what type uses should and
should not be permitted as home occupations. The State of Texas allows beauty salons
from the home provided a completely separate entrance and toilet facilities are provided.
Mack states there is also consideration for short-term rentals-Airbnb's and daycare to be
reviewed as well.
Commissioners discussed the subject and advised staff that it is worth exploring relaxing
some of the restrictions. Mack asked for a Commissioner volunteer to be on the review
committee for this draft. Tylesha Ross -Mosley agreed to help with the review.
No action required.
Request items for future agendas.
Meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
APPROVED THIS 6th DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2022
r
Chairper.:::.......
 sin
