EXHIBIT A <br />WATER SERVICE CONTRACT <br />STATE OF TEXAS I <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR X <br />THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a Municipal <br />corporation, acting by and through its Mayor, Joe Graham, <br />hereinafter referred to as CITY and PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE, <br />acting by and through its President, Dr. Dennis Michaelis, <br />duly authorized hereinafter called PJC, do contract and <br />agree as follows: <br />1. Water mains on the campus of PJC are the property <br />of PJC and shall be maintained by PJC. Mains leaving PJC <br />campus become City of Paris water system property at PJC <br />property lines. <br />2. All main connections for the benefit of PJC water <br />system shall be constructed at PJC's cost by the CITY if the <br />CITY can do so in a timely manner otherwise by a private <br />contractor. Maintenance of the CITY system to PJC's pro- <br />perty line shall be CITY's responsibility. <br />3. PJC agrees to make timely repairs on unmetered <br />mains and in the event of failure to so do, the CITY may <br />make said repairs charging the cost therefor to PJC. <br />4. PJC is responsible for purchasing from the City of <br />Paris all meters necessary to meter all water used from the <br />City of Paris system by PJC. The meters so purchased shall <br />remain the property of the CITY and shall be maintained by <br />the CITY. PJC will supply all labor, and equipment neces- <br />sary for installation of meters; however, the actual setting <br />of the meter is to be done under CITY supervision. <br />5. PJC agrees to read all meters and supply in- <br />dividual readings to the CITY on a schedule set by CITY. <br />The CITY agrees to aggregate the individual readings into <br />composite water usage figure and to calculate PJC's water <br />bill as a single customer. <br />
