As a pool, this allows Texas
communities to pool their resources to buy down on health insurance. It is a tested and true means
of keeping costs down. Nevertheless, all insurance entities (private and pools) are impacted by the
rising costs of health care.
The City of Paris provides its employees four separate plans (labeled as A, B, C, and D). Within
each plan the employee can select either Employee (Only), Employee + Child, Employee +
Spouse, or Employee + Family. The plans are different from one another by offering differing
amounts of In/Out of Network Deductibles and Maximum Out of Pocket (OOP) expense. Plan A
is the most expensive monthly premium option but comes with low deductibles and OOP. Plan D
is reverse with the least expensive monthly premium but comes with high deductibles and OOP.
The following is a breakdown of the number of employees in each plan in 2022.
Plan A
Plan B
Plan C
......
Plan D
. . ... . ........ .
Total
%
Employee Only 8
24
68
123
223
82%
Employ ee/S Ouse 1
0
3
1
52%
Employee/Child 0
5
14
.__.... .._..._..
17
.ww ««wawa_
....._
36
... .....
13%
Employee/Famil 0
.___
t
0
3
5
8
3%
Total 9
29
88
146
272
