HPC: Glee Emmite —August 101h meeting. Chris Dux selected Chairman. Revote at next meeting for Vice <br />Chairman due to a tied vote. David Alraid COA 100 3 d St NW fencing reapproved. <br />Ellen Green 648 3 d St. SE approved extension of fagade grant. <br />Christ Fitzgerald 32nd West Plaza COS for sconces and new wooden door approved. <br />p O'Carroll presented a report on adoption of Pine Bluff and Fitzhugh as a locally designated district <br />outlining the economic impact to the community. There has been one successful public meeting with <br />more in the future. Cheri Bedford and Matt Coyle shared their experience at a recent conference. <br />4. Coordinators Report: Cheri Bedford - Farmers Market restroom is still in the budget, final budget not yet <br />approved. <br />5. Main St Advisory Board current balance $18,210. Proceeds from Hatch Chili Fest = $1,931. Expenses from <br />Chili Fest - $225 Paris Bakery, $160 Burgers, Shirts $1,170. Approximate profit $350. <br />Paris has received a $10,000 grant for the University Of Arlington Department Of Architecture to provide a <br />landscape design for downtown. Meetings with the public and Main Street Board expected. <br />Plan for Health Conference — they looked at Paris's Comprehensive Plan and what the city can do to help <br />engage community for a healthy lifestyle. Walkability was the focus with an emphasis on connecting The <br />Trail de Paris to downtown. Expert, Mark Fenton — gave several simple ideas that change driver behavior <br />to make it safer for pedestrians at a cost of $10,000. Cheri Bedford and Andrew Mack submitted a grant <br />to the Texas Downtown Association Anice Reed Fund that would pay for some of the cost. Find out in <br />November if grant is accepted. This is a temporary solution for things already in Paris comprehensive plan. <br />Still waiting for TXDot to report to the Board about the Stop Signs. No decisions have been made other <br />than more study is necessary. <br />Festival of Pumpkins, October 22nds. Already have a lot of sponsors. <br />Ryan O'Carroll is working on the Arts and Cultural District. He is available one more month. <br />Curtis Hall is doing much needed cleanup work downtown. <br />Cheri still has garland available for use from old Christmas tree. <br />Meet the City Council Idea — many business owners don't know their city council members. Cheri would <br />like to set up a Meet Your Council with participation by the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Mihir Pankaj and <br />Main Street Board members. Business owners will have the opportunity to meet the council and the <br />council can see all the business owners are doing. <br />6.
