Box 12788 <br /> Austin, Texas 78711 <br /> <br /> Dear Dr. Lahti: <br /> <br /> Over the past several years we have worked with Paris Junior College on <br /> a number of initiatives to upgrade the skills of workers in the college <br /> service area so that Kimberly-Clark (and other plants in Paris) can fill <br /> skilled jobs from within the local workforce. The greatest area of need <br /> identified is that of electro-mechanical skills. Kimberly-Clark conducted <br /> a survey with seven major industries in Paris which indicated that <br /> electro-mechanical skills are the primary need among industry not <br /> currently being addressed by the college. <br /> <br /> We encourage the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's approval of <br /> this program application for Electro-mechanical Technology.
