Box 12788 <br /> Austin, Texas 78711 <br /> <br /> Dear Dr. Lahti: <br /> <br /> Over the past several years we have worked with Paris Junior College to upgrade the <br /> skills of workers in the area so that Campbell Soup (and other plants in Paris) can fill skilled <br /> jobs from the local work. force. The greatest area of need is that of electro-mechanical skills. <br /> A survey of the seven major industries in Paris indicated the biggest gap between skills <br /> needed by industry and those currently being taught at the college was in electro-mechanical <br /> technology. <br /> <br /> We hope that the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will approve this <br /> applicaton for a program in Electro-Mechanical Technology.
