Historic Preservation Commission <br />February 8, 2023 <br />Page 3 <br />The Commission reviewed photos of the shed in question, and the new site plan of the <br />property. They determined there was no historical significance on the shed. <br />A motion to approve this item was made by Commissioner Holtman and seconded by <br />Commissioner Coyle. Motion carried, 6 ayes -0 nays <br />10. Discuss and make recommendation for increase in Fagade Grant amount. <br />The commission agreed to appoint a sub -committee. The sub -committee will review the <br />existing facade grants applications and requirements for process improvement and updating the <br />current fonns. They will then make a recommendation on an increase amount and requirements <br />as additional budgeted funds allocated by City Council. Chairman Dux agreed to serve on the <br />committee, and Cheri Bedford would recruit commissioners for availability. Councilwoman <br />Knox, Maureen Hammond of the PEDC Executive Director, and Paul Allen, Chamber of <br />Commerce Executive Director, a realtor and contractor were all suggested to attend the <br />discussion to hear about the incentives offered in the Historic District. <br />11. Appointment a subcommittee for the Imagine the Possibilities tours May 13. <br />Cheri Bedford registered the City of Paris for the Image the Possibilities Tour marketing <br />with the Texas Historic Commission and is waiting to hear from them on approval. She is <br />looking for Commission representation to assist in planning with the other partners, the Lamar <br />County Historic Commission and Harrison Walker and Harper to put on an event. Chairman Dux <br />and Laura Caffey were appointed as a sub -committee. <br />12. Coordinators Report: <br />Cheri Bedford gave an update on the Minor Certificates approved in house. The updated <br />included information on the repairing of stained glass windows on the First Baptist Church, and <br />the removal of the metal slip cover at 136 Clarksville (fornier restaurant). She is meeting with <br />new property owner 4 N. Plaza to discuss his future plans. <br />Cheri and Andrew have met with the Elder John Flowers, the pastor of the Hospitality <br />Church of God in Christ at the church building about his church hosting a public meeting for the <br />Pine Bluff Fitzhugh Historic District designation on April 27"' at 5:30 p.m. <br />Plans for a video presentation, a walking tour, and information on incentives and <br />schedule of next steps to the designation of the district will be presented. Cheri will meet with <br />Nancy Klein, who will be bringing some research by the late Louise Hagood for the Pine Bluff <br />Fitzhugh neighborhood in its earlier years. <br />13.
