PEDC Board Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, January 17, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Discuss and Consider A royal of the Minutes of the Re ular Meetin held December 5a 2022 <br />Dr. Hashmi made a motion to approve the December 5, 2022, minutes. Mr. Terrell seconded the motion. <br />Vote: 7 -ayes to 0 -nays <br />Discuss and Consider Approval of the November and December 2022 financial Statements <br />Secretary and Treasurer Chase Coleman presented financial reports for the months ending November and <br />December 2022. Mr. Coleman pointed out that a payment to American Spiral Weld for new jobs incentive was <br />paid in October but not accounted for within these statements — this adjustment will be reflected in January <br />financial statements. <br />Following discussion, Dr. Hashmi moved to approve the November and December 2022 financial reports. Mr. <br />Fendley seconded the motion. <br />Vote: 7 -ayes to 0 -nays <br />Discuss and Consider Engaeline DeadCat Media for Creative Elements and Mana ement of the Brand <br />Strategy <br />Ms. Hammond gave an update on the brand implementation. She noted that as Grayson Path, Paul Allen and <br />she reviewed and discussed the 324 -page final report, it became evident that the organizations would benefit <br />from engaging a "brand manager" to assist with implementation. At this time, she referenced the memo <br />distributed as part of the packet and proposed engaging DeadCat Media, jointly with the City and Chamber, to <br />serve as the brand manager. Collectively, the board agreed upon this recommendation. <br />Ms. Hammond requested authorization to negotiate and execute the contract with DeadCat Media in <br />partnership with the City and Chamber of Commerce, not to exceed $15,000 for the fiscal year. <br />Dr. Hashmi made an inquiry about the amount discussed, clarifying whether the cost would be shared or if the <br />cost was solely for the PEDC. Ms. Hammond responded by stating that each entity will contribute $15,000 for <br />a one-year term. <br />Mr. Roddy made the motion to authorize Hammond to negotiate and execute the contract with DeadCat <br />Media in partnership with the City and Chamber of Commerce, not to exceed $15,000 for the fiscal year. Mr. <br />Homer seconded the motion. <br />Vote: 7 -ayes to 0 -nays <br />Review and Discuss Report from Executive Director Maureen Hammond <br />Personnel Update: Ms. Hammond reported on personnel changes. She highlighted that Chris Stout had taken <br />a position in Wyoming and was replaced by Lauren Trejo who will be filling the role of Economic Development <br />Specialist. <br />2022 Highlights & Economic Impact: Ms. Hammond presented the 2022 Annual Report to the Board. She <br />began by noting that there are currently three active committees: Land, Marketing and Policy Review. She <br />highlighted the various accomplishments each committee achieved in 2022. <br />She also reported on business attraction, highlighting that the PEDC won two attraction projects in 2022: <br />Trison Tarps and Lionshead Tire and Wheel. She went on to state that there are three projects currently being <br />negotiated: Project Red Maple, Star Port and Red Oak. Additionally, Ms. Hammond reported specifics on <br />business retention and expansion. <br />
