295 <br /> <br /> <br /> President Fendley asked Mr. Vest to make his report. Mr. Vest discussed the <br /> responses received since the last meeting. He stated that he had given his <br /> quarter!y report to the City Council at their July meeting. Mr. Vest also reported <br /> that they had received the ACURA Survey, which would be an accurate source to <br /> use concerning the cost of living and attracting new industries. Mr. Vest asked <br /> the Board to begin considering the adoption of a resolution supporting the <br /> participation of the City of Paris in the Lone Star City Program and agreeing to <br /> cooperate in assisting Paris to achieve the designation as a Lone Star City, which <br /> would mean that the City of Paris has an accredited economic development <br /> program and this resolution would become a part of the application process in <br /> becoming a Lone Star City. Mr. Vest said he would like this resolution placed on <br /> the P.E.D.C. August agenda for the Board's consideration. Mr. Vest also stated <br /> that he wanted to request that the City Council and Lamar County <br /> Commissioners Court consider the adoption of the same resolution supporting <br /> the application for the City of Paris to achieve the designation of a Lone Star City <br /> at their August meetings. <br /> <br /> President Fendley stated the next item on the agenda was consideration of <br /> establishing a regular monthly meeting date and time for the coming year. <br /> <br /> City Attorney T. K. Haynes stated that the Boardmembers had been provided with <br /> a copy of the schedule for the coming year and he read the resolution. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fendley called for questions and there were none. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 97-006, setting the monthly meetings of the Paris Economic <br /> Development Corporation for the coming year was presented. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 97-006 <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in keeping with Section 5.02 of the Bylaws of the Paris Economic <br /> Development Corporation, the President is obligated to, at the beginning of his term, set the <br /> regular meeting dates and times for the upcoming year; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> CORPORATION, that the monthly meetings of the Paris Economic Development Corporation <br /> be, and they are hereby, set for 4:00 o'clock p.m. on the following dates: August 13, 1997, <br /> September 10, 1997, October 15, 1997, November 12, 1997, December 10, 1997, January 14, <br /> 1998, February 11, 1998, March 11, 1998, April 15, 1998, May 13, 1998, June 10, 1998, and <br /> July 22, 1998. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of July, 1997. <br /> <br /> Cnrtis Fendley, President <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Richard M.
