Copies of the 2021 International Mechanical Gas Code will be maintained <br />on file in the office of the planning and development department and may be viewed <br />online at htt s://codes.iccsafe.or codes i-codes/2021-icode, and the provisions <br />thereof shall be controlling as set out herein in the construction of all buildings and <br />other structures within the corporate limits of the city. <br />§ 4.02.182 Amendments. <br />The following sections, paragraphs, and sentences of the 2021 International <br />Mechanical Code adopted by section„4.02.181 are hereby amended as follows: <br />Amend Section 102.8, Referenced Codes and Standards, to read as follows: <br />102.8 Referenced Codes and Standards. The codes and standards referenced <br />herein shall be those that are listed in Chapter 15 and such codes, when <br />specifically adopted, and standards shall be considered part of the requirements <br />of this code to the prescribed extent of each such reference. Where differences <br />occur between provisions of this code and the referenced standards, the <br />provisions of this code shall apply. Whenever amendments have been adopted to <br />the referenced codes and standards, each reference to said code and standard <br />shall be considered to reference the adopted amendments. Any reference to NFPA <br />70 shall mean the National Electrical Code as adopted. <br />Amend Section 115.4, Violation Penalties, to read as follows: <br />115.4 Violation penalties. Persons who shall violate a provision of this code, fail <br />to comply with any of the requirements thereof or erect, install, alter or repair <br />work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the code <br />official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this code, shall <br />be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000.00, and <br />each and every day's continuance of any violation of the provisions of this code <br />shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. A violation of this code is a <br />strict liability offense. <br />Amend Section 306.5, Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures, to read <br />asfollows: <br />306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where <br />equipment requiring access or appliances are located on an elevated structure or <br />the roof of a building such that personnel will have to climb higher than 16 feet <br />(4877 mm) above grade to access, an interior or exterior means of access shall be <br />provided. Exterior ladders providing roof access need not extend closer than 12 <br />feet (2438 mm) to the finish grade or floor level below and shall extend to the <br />54 <br />
