Building and Standards Meeting <br />February 20, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city has <br />right to do so. <br />Motion made by Adam Bolton, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 4-0 <br />b. 505 W Sherman; City Block 136, Lot 16 <br />Contact with fiancee. <br />Owner: Shawn C Armentrout, 505 W Sherman, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated someone is living in the structure. The owner is in prison and <br />his fiancee is living there. There are tarps on the roof, junk and rubbish on entire <br />property, plywood, furniture, building materials, windows, mop buckets, tires, <br />pallets, no wood on side, mattresses, back caught on fire, and lumber. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 30 days, or city has <br />right to do so. Declare junk and rubbish a nuisance, remove within 30 days, or city has <br />right to do so. <br />Motion made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Reeves Hayter, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 4-0 <br />c. 614 W Sherman; City Block 135, Lot 2 <br />No contact. <br />Jimmie R Willis, 614 W Sherman, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated the structure is recently vacated, structure is sound, roof is in <br />good shape, no siding on house, can see insulation, and window is open leaving it <br />unsecure. <br />Discussion on repair vs. demolition. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 30 days, if not bring <br />back to BSC to assess civil penalties. <br />Motion made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Richard Thompson, to follow staff <br />recommendation.
