PEDC Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, April 18, 2023 Page 3 of 4 Universal Fabricating USA, Inc.: Ms. Hammond stated this is another exciting project, highlighting their recent hiring announcement and made mention that the PEDC assisted in promoting this announcement last week. She went on to note that the company will be hiring their first positions over the next few weeks. Branding Update: Ms. Hammond informed everyone the new brand was launched last week. She went on to thank Dr. Hashmi, Mr. Terrell and Mr. Roddy for being part of the Marketing Committee as well as Dr. Hashmi and Mr. Terrell for being part of the branding steering committee. Ms. Hammond noted the whole process took approximately 18 months and she is looking forward to implementing the new brand with a slow roll out. She concluded the report with a brief discussion about the new PEDC website and landing page with the new domain of selectparistexas.com. Housing Study: Ms. Hammond stated that the PEDC supported the city with $20,000 of budgeted funds to assist in a housing study. She noted the study is currently in progress and will be completed in two phases with the first phase totaling a 90 -daytime frame. Ms. Hammond stated that during the survey, they will examine various aspects of the existing housing landscape along with future development plans. Ms. Hammond concluded her report by emphasizing the importance of the survey, reiterating recent job announcements and the need for more housing and diversity in such. Convene into Executive Session: 1) Pursuant to Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code to (1) discuss or deliberate regarding commercial or financial information that the governmental body has received from a business prospect that the governmental body seeks to have locate, stay, or expand in or near the territory of the governmental body and with which the governmental body is conducting economic development negotiations; or (2) to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to a business prospect described by Subdivision (1), to wit: a) Project Clydesdale b) Project Star Port 2) Pursuant to Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code to discuss and deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property. 3) Pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code: 1) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee: or to hear a complaint to charge against an officer or employee.
