MINUTES OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 2023 <br />The Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas Board of Commissioners met for a <br />regular session at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the I lousing Authority of the City of <br />L" <br />Paris, Texas Office, 650 7" SW —Office, Conference Room, Paris, Texas 75460. <br />Present: Board Members: Jenny Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Steve Smith (via phone) <br />Beverly Johnson <br />City Representatives: None <br />Absent: Board Members: T. K. Haynes, Chairman <br />Dewayne Dangerfield <br />Call meeting to order. Jenny Wilson. Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, called <br />the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. <br />2. Quorum and members verified by Jenny Wilson. Vice Chairman. <br />Citizens' Forum. No one present or requested to speak. <br />4. Approve minutes from the meeting of February 21. 2023. A Motion to approve this item was <br />made by Board Member Beverly Johnson and seconded by Board Member Steve Smith. <br />Motion carried, 3 ayes — 0 nays. <br />5. No unfinished business to discuss. <br />6. Received reports from Sally Ruthatt, Executive Director regarding: <br />A. Occupancy reports on Public Housing with 227 housed (7 vacancies), <br />demographics, and waiting list information = 35 on the 1 -bedroom waiting list, 16 <br />on the 2 -bedroom waiting list. 10 pm the 3 -bedroom waiting list, and I on the 4 - <br />bedroom waiting list. Section 8 with 295 housed (2 vouchers out'loold-ing for <br />housing), demographics, and waiting fist information = 78 on the Section 8 waiting <br />list. <br />B. Financial Reports on Public Housing and Section 8 Programs given to the Board. <br />C. Exterior Painting Bids for Booker T Washington Homes were opened on March 6. <br />2023. Four bids were received, PMGR Development Group Corporation gave the <br />lowest bid. <br />D. The Board was notified that Mr. Smiths term will expire in June 2023. The Board <br />also requested at the last Board meeting to place on March's agenda the subject of <br />the Resident Board Member's lack of attendance. Mr. Dangerfield has not been <br />present at a meeting since June 2022. The Board Members are concerned about not <br />having a resident's input at the meetings. A motion to remove Mr. Dangerfield from <br />the Board was made by Board Member Beverly Johnson and seconded by Board <br />Member Steve Smith. Motion carried, 3 ayes — 0 nays. <br />
