Regular Council Meeting <br />June 26, 2023 <br />Page 7 <br />Mayor Hughes said there were four vacancies, two were for regular members and two <br />were for alternate members. He reported the four applicants as being Ruth Ann Alsobrook, Alix <br />Putnam, Ben Vaughan and Larry Walker. He asked that each Council Member to score a ballot <br />giving their top candidate the highest number of points and so forth. Mayor Hughes said once <br />scored, staff would tally the points and the two candidates receiving the most points would serve <br />in the regular member positions. <br />City Clerk Janice Ellis reported that Alix Putnam and Ben Vaughan were selected to be <br />the regular board members and Ruth Ann Alsobrook and Larry Walker were selected to be the <br />alternate members. <br />A Motion to approve the board members as reported was made by Council Member <br />Pilgrim and seconded by Council Member Savage. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />22. Discuss and make appointments to the various Boards and Commissions. <br />City Council considered applicants for the three vacancies on the Paris Economic <br />Development Corporation as follows: Brandon Bell, Josh Bray, Chase Coleman, Curtis <br />Fendley, Seth Johnson, Hunter Jones, Chad Lindsey, Tylesha Moseley, and Amalia Tanguma. <br />After staff tallied the points, Ms. Ellis reported that Josh Bray, Chase Coleman and Curtis <br />Fendley received the most points. A Motion to approve the board members as reported was <br />made by Council Member Savage and seconded by Council Member Norment. Motion carried, <br />6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />City Council considered applicants for the four vacancies on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission as follows: Andrew Adkins, Adam Bolton, Seth Johnson, Chad Lindsey, Tylesha <br />Moseley, Michael Mosher, Robert Spain, and Amalia Tanguma. <br />After staff tallied the points, Ms. Ellis reported that Chad Lindsey, Tylesha Moseley, <br />Robert Spain, and Larry Walker received the most points. A Motion to approve the board <br />members as reported was made by Council Member Savage and seconded by Council Member <br />Moore. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. After determining that Larry Walker was appointed to <br />the Board of Adjustment, a Motion to rescind Mr. Walker's appointment was made by Council <br />Member Savage and seconded by Council Member Pilgrim. Ms. Ellis reported that Mr. Bolton <br />was the next person receiving the most points. A Motion to appoint Mr. Bolton to the <br />commission was made by Council Member Savage and seconded by Council Member Moore. <br />Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />Next, City Council considered applicants for the two vacancies on the Building and <br />Standards Commission as follows: Brandon Kearney and Kenneth Kohls. <br />A Motion to appoint the two applicants to the two vacant positions was made by Council <br />Member Pilgrim and seconded by Council Member Savage. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />
