MINUTES OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING JULY 11, 2023 The Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas Board of Commissioners met for a SPECIAL MEETING at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2023, at: the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas Office, 650 7'h SW — Office, Conference Room, Paris, Texas 75460. Present: Board Members: Jenne Wilson, Vice Chairman Steve Smith Beverly Johnson Derrick Hill T.K. Haynes. Chai.irnan (via phone) City Representatives: None Housing Authority Employees: Sally Ruthart Absent: Board Members: None 1. Call meeting to order. Jenny Wilson, Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. 2. Quorum and members verified by Jenny Wilson, Vice Chairman.. Citizens' Forum. No one present or requested to speak. 4. Approve minutes from the meeting of June 20, 2023. A Motion to approve this item was made by Board Member Steve Smith and seconded by Board Member Beverly Johnson. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays. No unfinished business to discuss. 6. New Business: A. Convened into executive session pursuant to Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code to interview for Executive Director position. B. Reconvened into open session at 10:06 a.m. Motion was made to .hire Elizabeth Brooks for the executive director position by Chairman, T.K. Haynes and seconded by Board Member Steve Smith. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays. Mrs. Brooks was told by Jenny Wilson that she would send her an employment agreement within the next 48 hours. T.K. Haynes made a motion that the pay would be as discussed, and Ms. Wilson told the Board that the pay would be included in the employment agreement. 8. There being no further business, A Motion to adjourn was made by Board Member Beverly Johnson and seconded by Board Member Steve Smith. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays. Jenny Wilson, Vice Chairman adjourned the meeting at 1.0:08 a.m.
