Item No. 20 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO TAX INCREMENT REINVESTMENT ZONE <br />BOARD (TIRZ) <br />DATE: August 14, 2023 <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards & Commissions adopted by City Council <br />require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in June. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: At the June 26 City Council meeting, Assistant City Manager Robert Vine <br />and Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle were appointed to serve as Staff Members to the TIRZ <br />Board. <br />At that meeting, it was determined that there were not enough citizen applicants to fill the TIRZ <br />Board, and Council provided direction to Staff to re -advertise. Since that time, Staff has <br />received a total of six applications, from the following persons: Brandon Bell, Dr. Teresa <br />Bussell, Maureen Hammond, Cody Head, Miles Mathieu, and Amalia Tanguma. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint three members to the TIRZ Board, and appoint one Council <br />Member to serve as the Council Liaison to this Board. <br />
