Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />August 1, 2023 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />AUGUST 1, 2023 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on August <br />1, 2023, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, Alix Putnam, Lydia Fitzgerald, Carlton <br />Cooper and Ben Vaughan. <br />Alternate Member: Larry Walker, dismissed due to full quorum. <br />City Representatives: Andrew Mack, Robert Vine, Duke McGee, Stephanie <br />Harris, Mayor Reginald Hughes and Mayor Pro Tem Mihir Pankaj, <br />Absent: Board Members: None <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by David Hamilton at 12:01 p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (July S, 2023) <br />Motion was made by Alix Putnam, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve minutes for the <br />July 5, 2023 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of James Martinez of Discover <br />Billboards, on behalf of Chad Gabeline, regarding a variance to the City of Paris Sign <br />Ordinance, Section 4.10.006(d) (7) on Lots 6, 7 & 10, City Block 297, being located at 1840 <br />NW Loop 286. <br />Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Zoning, presented the case to the board. <br />Duke McGee, Building Official, informed the board that the applicant has since submitted <br />an engineered plan to the office for review. <br />David Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />James Martinez, applicant, of 820 SE 47th Street, informed the board that a dig test will be <br />performed to avoid any utilities and the minimum distance to any power lines will be met. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Staff member Paige Unger made note that there were no input forms submitted. <br />
