MINUTES OF THE PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 21, 2023 <br />The Paris Visitors and Convention Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 4:00 <br />p.m. on August 21, 2023, at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce board room, 8 West Plaza, Paris, <br />TX. <br />Present: Board Members: Bryan Hargis, Bradley Hilliard, Mihir Pankaj, Ryan Whitaker, Kelli <br />McDonald, Chadlee Johnston, Bud Mistry, Robbie Todd, Chase Coleman, Eric Guillot, Trey Glascock, <br />Dustin Broadway, Tim Walsworth and Brittany Miller. <br />City Representatives: none <br />Absent: Board Members: All present. <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Chadlee Johnston called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />2. Citizens' Forum. <br />There was no one present for the citizen's forum. <br />3. Approve minutes from the meeting of June 26, 2023. A motion to approve was made by Bradley <br />Hilliard seconded by Tim Walsworth. Motion carried. 13 ayes, 0 nays. <br />4. Receive financial report from July 2023, by Chase Coleman. A motion to approve was made by <br />Ryan Whitaker, seconded by Eric Guillot. Motion carried. 13 ayes. 0 nays. <br />Discuss and act on funding request for Texas K9 Association, September 6-10, 2023. Based on the <br />scoring criteria a motion to approve $1000 was made by Bud Mistry, seconded by Bryan Hargis. <br />Motion carried. 13 yes. O nays. <br />6. Discuss and act on funding request for Paris Body Art Expo, September 8-10, 2023, based on the <br />scoring criteria a motion to approve $1925 was made by Tim Walsworth, seconded by Robbie <br />Todd. Motion carried. 13 ayes, 0 nays. <br />7. Discuss and act on funding request for Paris Pair, September 8-9, 2023. Based on the scoring <br />criteria a motion to approve $2350 was made by Trey Glascock, seconded by Chase Coleman. <br />Motion carried. 13 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Discuss and act on funding request for City of Paris, Festival of Pumpkins, October 28, 2023. <br />Based on the scoring criteria a motion to approve $1875 was made by Chase Coleman, seconded <br />by Ryan Whitaker. Motion carried. 13 ayes 0 nays. <br />9. Discussion. Paul Allen stated that the SDBA Boat races was a success with 100 boats here and <br />2300 spectators. He also stated that the City, Chamber and PEDC will be meeting to discuss <br />purchasing ""Pacer" this is a tool that will allow these entities to see how many people stayed <br />overnight and where and also where they eat. TAO is September 9th and UCI is September 30th <br />10. Discussion. Becky Semple stated that Hatch Chili Festival and Salsa on the Square is September <br />2, 2023 <br />
