Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />September 5, 2023 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />SEPTEMBER 5, 2023 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on <br />September 5, 2023, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman <br />St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, Lydia Fitzgerald, Carlton Cooper and Ben <br />Vaughan. <br />City Representatives: Andrew Mack, Robert Vine, Stephanie Harris and <br />Mayor Reginald Hughes. <br />Absent: Board Members: Alix Putnam and Larry Walker <br />The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by David Hamilton at 12:04 p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (August], 2023) <br />Motion was made by Lydia Fitzgerald, seconded by Carlton Cooper to approve minutes <br />for the August 1, 2023 meeting. Motion carried 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Staff presentation and recommendation on Agenda item 4. <br />Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Zoning, presented the case and City's position to <br />the board. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of George Preston regarding <br />variances to the City of Paris Area Regulations, on Lot 25-A, City Block 112, being located <br />at Parcel 15752, Sections and variances as follows: <br />1) 7' variance to the front yard setback on SE 14th Street, Section 9-501(1). <br />2) 28' variance to lot depth, Section 9-301(1). <br />Mr. Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />George Preston of 16 Clarksville St, applicant, stated that he has no opposition to the City's <br />recommended conditions and will comply with what is required of him. Mr. Preston also <br />stated that he wishes to develop more of his lots on the same block to provide elderly people <br />nice homes with close access to amenities. <br />There was discussion amongst the board, staff and the applicant about how on -street <br />parking will be addressed and enforced. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />
