TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />Robert Vine, Deputy City Manager <br />Doug Harris, Assistant City Manager <br />FROM: Michael Smith, Director of Public Works <br />SUBJECT: Pickleball Agreement and Status <br />DATE: October 9, 2023 <br />IC i��iiJ►� <br />In May 2023 the Parks & Recreation division of Public Works was given direction to move forward <br />with obtaining information on converting an existing tennis court at Culbertson Park to four (4) <br />pickleball courts; one (1) regulation size tennis court will accommodate four (4) pickleball courts. <br />On September 8, 2023, Public Works Parks & Recreation were authorized to move forward with <br />this project and instructed to obtain estimates for the work necessary to accomplish this conversion. <br />Two (2) estimates were received for this scope of work. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: <br />An agreement with Dobbs Tennis Courts, Inc. was signed on September 21, 2023 in the amount <br />of $17,116.00 to resurface one (1) tennis court and striping for four (4) pickleball courts with <br />permanent net posts. The other estimate received was in the amount of $22,000.00. Scheduling <br />for the work will be coordinated between Public Works Parks & Recreation and Dobbs Tennis <br />Courts, Inc.; once scheduled the work will take three (3) days to complete. A copy of the signed <br />agreement is included with this memorandum. <br />BUDGET: <br />$17,116.00; Building & Grounds (Park Improvements); 01-0401-43-00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Not an action item; presentation only. <br />
