Regular Council Meeting <br />October 9, 2023 <br />Page 3 <br />Ms. Ellis said it was the time of the year where City Council normally cancels the second <br />meetings in November and December due to holiday schedules and the additional meetings <br />during budget cycle. <br />A Motion to cancel the second meetings in November and December was made by <br />Council Member Savage and seconded by Council Member Moore. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 <br />nays. <br />10. Receive a presentation to update the City Council regarding the status of the <br />improvements to Culbertson Park to install a pickle ball court. <br />Public Works Director Michael Smith said in May of 2023, staff was given direction to <br />move forward with obtaining information on converting one tennis court at Culbertson Park into <br />four pickle ball courts. He said they received two bids, and an agreement with Dobbs Tennis <br />Courts was signed on September 21, 2023 in the amount of $17,116.00. He also said this <br />included resurfacing of one tennis court and striping of four pickle ball courts. <br />Council Member Savage inquired when the work would start and how long it would take. <br />Mr. Smith said they planned to start at the end of the week or the beginning of next week. He <br />also said staff was informed it would take Dobbs three days from start to finish. <br />11. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />Mayor Hughes reminded everyone of the second West Paris Town Hall meeting on <br />Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m. at Travis High School of Choice, and there was also a third West Paris <br />Town Hall meeting on Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. at Givens Early Childhood Center. <br />Council Member Savage asked that they place on a future agenda the request for pickle <br />ball courts at Love Civic Center. City Manager Grayson Path said he had already texted staff to <br />contact Ms. Hayes about setting up a meeting; however, should Council desire an item be placed <br />on an agenda they would do so. Council Member Savage said he would like to be included in <br />those meetings. <br />12. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Pro -Tem <br />Pankaj and seconded by Council Member Savage.
