Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />November 7, 2023 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2023 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on <br />November 7, 2023, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E <br />Kaufman St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, Lydia Fitzgerald, Alix Putnam, Ben <br />Vaughan, and Carlton Cooper. <br />City Representatives: Robert Vine, Todd Mittge, and Jacie Sparks. <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by David Hamilton at 12:02 p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (October 3, 2023) <br />Change 1. Under Board Recommended Findings #4, "but it is based" to "but it is not <br />based." <br />Motion was made by Alix Putnam, seconded by Lydia Fitzgerald to approve minutes for <br />the October 3, 2023 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Staff presentation and recommendation on Agenda item 4. <br />Todd Mittge, City Engineer, presented the case, the City Staff s recommendation for <br />approval of the greenspace variance. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Allen Perez, on behalf of <br />Murphy Oil USA, Inc.; regarding variances to the City of Paris Buffering Regulations, <br />Sections 30-101 on Lot 1, Block A, of the Netemeyer Addition being located at 3805 Lamar <br />Avenue Street. <br />Mr. Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />Chris Strickland of 1101 Central Expressway South, Suite 215, Allen TX 75015, Engineer, <br />spoke in favor of the request. There was discussion amongst the Board, Mr. Strickland, and <br />City Staff regarding parking, dumpsters and the building structure. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made to approve the variance to the City of Paris Buffering Regulations, <br />Sections 30-101, by Alix Putnam, seconded by Ben Vaughan. Motion carried 5 ayes - 0 <br />nays. <br />
