CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. One or all Council Members may be attending remotely, but the feed will be available for live viewing at bj!ps. /pajistexas ov/public. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows: Opening Agenda 1. Call meeting to order. 2. Invocation. 3. United States Pledge of Allegiance & Texas Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Citizens' forum. (Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. Unless an item is posted on the Agenda, the Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personal appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.) If necessary, the City Council may convene into Executive Session under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code regarding any item on this agenda. Consent Agenda Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. 5. Approve minutes from the meetings of January 22, 2024 and January 29, 2024. 6. Receive reports and/or minutes from the following boards and commissions: a. Visitors & Convention Council (11-20-2024) b. Love Civic Center Board (11-29-2023) c. Historic Preservation Commission (11-8-2023) d. Paris Economic Development Corporation (12-5-2023) e. Planning & Zoning Commission (1-3-2024) 7. Approve a Resolution Amending Resolution No. 2023-032 Supporting an Application for a Grant from the 2023 State Homeland Security Program and the Ark -Tex Council of Governments for the Purpose of Funding the Acquisition of Police Barricades by Adding a Provision that in the Event of Loss or Misuse of Grant Funds, the City will Return all such Funds to the Governor's Public Safety Office. 8. Approve an Agreement with a third party contractor, Courtney Farmer, LLC, to facilitate the Softball Program for the City of Paris; and authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.
