Building and Standards Meeting <br />January 22, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />Robert Taney's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, removal of scaffolding within <br />30 days, or city has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Ken Koh1s, to follow staff <br />recommendation. The owner had tried <br />to appeal the previous orders', yet no progress was made to the city's understanding. <br />As per the City Attorney's guidance, we will be issuing new orders. The structure <br />has holes in roof, no floor, no ceiling, and is unsecure. <br />Robert TaRey's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />Be 127 NW 24'h*Wortham &Carlton Block 3 , Lot 24 <br />Owner: Carla E & Chester W Norris; 2425 40" St. SE, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated the recently demolished carport had previous orders associated <br />with the property. However, with the new orders there has been no col nunication <br />with the current owner. Notably, the roof has holes, there i*s damage to the foundation, <br />nad the structure is sinking, with trees growing through the roof,. <br />Robert TaHey's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo within 30 days, or city <br />has right to do so. <br />Motion made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Brandon Kearney, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 6-0 <br />C. 1540 W Shiloh; Colonial Addition Block 7, Lot 16 <br />Owner: Jimmy Don & Glenda Ballard, 1540 W Shiloh, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated there has been no communication with the owner regarding the <br />property, which exhibits several significant issues. These include holes in the roof, a <br />porch that i*s collapsing, foundation damage, and an accumulation of brush, junk, and <br />rubbish on the premises. <br />Robert TaUey's recommendation0 <br />: Declare a nuisance, remove all junk and rubbish <br />within 30 days, demo within 30 days, or city has right to do so. <br />
