MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, OGrOBER 10, 2023 <br />Present: Board Members: Greg Kee, Glee Emmite, Seth Walker, Tyrone Hayden, William <br />Walker <br />City Representatives: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager; <br />Rob Vine, Deputy City Manager; <br />Guest: Ryan Matthews <br />Absent: City Representatives: Mayor Reginald Hughes <br />1. Citizen forum -Open <br />2. Review minutes from the September 12, 2023. <br />3. Discussion and possible action on the following Building Improvement Grant Application for the <br />amount of $5000 -Ryan Matthews Paris Brewing Company <br />a. 39 N. Main St. —Improvements to alley, signage, and interior ventilation system. <br />The Main Street advisory reviewed a grant request for $5000 submitted by Ryan Matthews to <br />improve the rear of the building, including a seating area, and a green space to be used for <br />separation from the neighboring buildings. Also included in the request is a sign painted on the <br />side of the building and an interior ventilation system to be used for restaurant service. <br />A motion was made to approve the BIG grant request in the amount of $5000 by Glee Emmite, <br />seconded by William Walker, Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays <br />4. Board Member Activity Reports: <br />Chairman Kee gave a brief report on volunteers from Paris New Generation and CF Paris <br />Churches participating in organizing the childrens games for the Festival of Pumpkins <br />Glee Emmite gave the report for the Paris Downtown Associations is making plans for <br />Mannequin Night coming on October 21, ribbon cuttings for new businesses opening. PDA is <br />also working on the Parade coming the Ist Saturday night in December (2nd) . Also Paris <br />Downtown Association is hosting a window decoration contest. <br />5. Coordinators Report: Cheri Bedford <br />Ms. Bedford gave the update that the workplan is set for November 16 at 5:30 p.m.- 8: 00 p.m. and <br />December 5th, held at Community Room at the Union Station Depot on Bonham St.. Consultant <br />Sarah Main Street O'Brien sent a survey to everyone. All downtown stake holders were invited. No <br />November regularly scheduled Main Street Board Meeting in November and December. <br />Sandwiches are provided. <br />Reminded everyone about the Annular Eclipse on Oct 14- get the viewing glasses. <br />
