§ 12.04.002 Definitions.
<br />For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings herein described:
<br />Brush means any cuttings or trimmings from trees, shrubs, lawns, and similar materials not
<br />exceeding four feet (4') in length or four inches (4") in diameter. The term "Brush"
<br />specifically excludes debris resulting from the services of a Commercial Service Provider.
<br />Bu1k,Waste means large rubbish items including, but not limited to, White Goods, bicycles,
<br />furniture, rugs, mattresses, televisions, fence material, auto parts, and other similar
<br />oversized items which are customary to ordinary housekeeping operations of a Residential
<br />Unit.
<br />Collection means the act of removing from a Customer's property Waste in any form for
<br />transport to a Disposal Facility.
<br />Commercial Service Provider means a person or business entity that provides for
<br />compensation tree limb cutting and removal, or complete tree and stump removal services.
<br />Commercial Unit means a commercial business or establishment, including, but not limited
<br />to, a store, office, restaurant, warehouse and/or other nonmanufacturing facility, premises,
<br />location, or entity, public or private, within City's corporate limits.
<br />Commercial aste means all types of Solid Waste generated by Commercial Units, excluding
<br />Residential Waste and Industrial Waste.
<br />a ;Lost Site means the city's owned and operated compost site located at 705 Field Road,
<br />Paris, TX, 75460.
<br />Construction and Demolition Debris means non -compatible waste building materials
<br />resulting from construction, remodeling, repair, or demolition operations at a Residential
<br />Unit, Municipal Facility, or large Commercial Unit, including but not limited to carpet,
<br />cartons, concrete, excelsior, gypsum board, metal, paper, plastic, rubber, and wood products.
<br />Construction debris does not include Hazardous Waste.
<br />Contractor means the city's duly selected and procured contractor for providing Waste
<br />Collection services.
<br />Curbside means (a) in the case of a street or highway with a defined asphalt or concrete curb
<br />establishing a vertical boundary separation between a roadway and an adjacent lot or tract,
<br />the area within three (3) feet of the curb that provides primary access to the Unit as
<br />designated by City; and (b) in the case of a street or highway that is not constructed with a
<br />curb, the area within three (3) feet of the edge of the paved area of the street or highway that
<br />provides primary access to the Unit as designated by City; and (c) with respect to a Unit
<br />where the placement of Waste for collection at defined in (a) or (b), whichever is applicable,
<br />interferes with or endangers the movement of vehicles or pedestrians, such other place as
<br />close to the Unit's adjacent roadway as approved by the City Manager.
