eclipse, as well as having a countdown clock. The collection contains a <br />variety of offerings related to the eclipse. The library is also providing free <br />pairs of eclipse glasses for all new card holders and program attendees, <br />while supplies last. There are 1800 available. <br />Other program offerings from the library for the eclipse are crafts, hands-on <br />activities, a book club forAll the Light We CannotSee, BINGO After Dark, and <br />on the day of the event, the librarywill have chalk and strainers available for <br />tracing crescent shapes. <br />On Good Friday and the following Saturday, the librarywill be closed. The <br />traveling planetarium will be open to the public, which the library assisted <br />with the event and donated a portion of the budgetto help make it happen. <br />This planetarium will be free to the public. <br />V. Friends of the Library Report: <br />a. Author Talk: <br />Audrey said that the next author talk will be with Madeline Miller, author of <br />Circe and Song of Achilles. This will take place at via Zoom at the libraryon <br />March 21 st at 6:00 p.m. <br />b. Staff Appreciation: <br />The Friends are working on providing a staff appreciation during the month of <br />April. <br />c. Astronaut: <br />Dr. Kjell Lindgren was scheduled to visit Paris but will have to reschedule, <br />due to a rocket launch. If he can still do an in-person rescheduling, it will <br />take place in the fall. <br />d. Treasury Report: <br />Jeanie informed the board thatthe Friends paid for services and the balance <br />of $19,000 decreased to $16,000. <br />VI. Director's Remarks: <br />a. Stats and Budget: <br />Connie stated that there was an error made on the stats for the month. The <br />number of librarycards was incorrectly listed as 16,430. That number is <br />12,430. She remains proud of the current library stats. The board packetfor <br />the month of February does not include a budget sheet because the Director <br />of Finance for the City of Paris is currently working on re -coding the budget <br />sheet. Rob stated that this is being done to help provide clarity and accuracy. <br />With no further comments, the meeting was adjourned at 6:19 p.m., with Melanie making <br />the motion and Kelvin providing the 2nd <br />
