Item No. 17 TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council Grayson Path, City Manager FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk SUBJECT: CHANGE FOR MEETING DATE FOR APRIL 8, 2024 DATE: March 25, 2024 BACKGROUND: City Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of each month. STATUS OF ISSUE: The April 8, 2024 City Council meeting is the same day as the Eclipse which is a National Event and more specifically, the City is expected to receive many visitors prior to and up to the date of the event. At the March 11, 2024 City Council meeting, several Council Members discussed the possibility of moving the April 8 meeting to April 9. At that time, Staff advised they would need to discuss this with the bond counsel because certificates of obligation were scheduled to be sold on that day. Staff has learned that there is no problem with rescheduling the April 8 City Council meeting to April 9, should City Council desire to do so. BUDGET: N/A RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the April 8 City Council meeting remain on that date, as scheduled.
