MINUTES OF THE PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />April 15, 2024 <br />The Paris Visitors and Convention Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 4:00 p.m. on April <br />15, 2024, at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce board room, 8 West Plaza, Paris, TX. <br />Present: Board Members: Bradley Hilliard, Ryan Whitaker, Russell Jackson, Eric Guillot, Chadlee Johnston, <br />Thomas McMonigle, Cody Head, Misty Halcomb and Sherrie Holbert. <br />City Representatives: none <br />Absent: Board Members: Tim Walsworth, Bud Mistry, Bryan Hargis, Brittany Miller, Monica Clement, Trey <br />Glascock <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Chadlee Johnston called the meeting to order at 4:06 p.m. <br />2. Citizens' Forum. <br />There was no one present for the citizen's forum. <br />3. Approve minutes from the meeting of March, 2024. A motion to approve was made by Eric Guillot <br />seconded by Thomas McMonigle. Motion carried. 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />4. Receive financial report from March 2024, by Paul Allen. A motion to approve was made by Misty Halcomb, <br />seconded by Bradley Hilliard. Motion carried. 9 ayes. 0 nays. <br />5. Discuss and act on funding request for Denver Pyle's Uncle Jessee Big Bass Classic on May 4th. Based on <br />the scoring criteria a motion to approve $1750 was made by Cody Head, seconded by Eric Guillot. Motion <br />carried. 9 ayes. O nays. <br />6. Discuss and act on funding request for Southern Drag Boat Test and Tune on May 41 and 5'. Based on the <br />scoring criteria a motion to approve $1500 was made by Misty Halcomb, seconded by Thomas McMonigle. <br />Motion carried. 9 ayes. O nays. <br />7. Discuss and act on funding request for Red River Valley Veterans Car Show on June 7r' and 81. Based on <br />the scoring criteria a motion to approve $2150 was made by Ryan Whitaker, seconded by Bradley Hilliard. <br />Motion carried. 9 ayes. 0 nays. <br />8. Discuss and act on funding request for Diamond Youth Baseball 11 U state Championship Tournament and <br />Diamond Youth Baseball 9U on June 291— July 151. Based on the scoring criteria a motion to approve $1900 <br />for each one was made by Ryan Whitaker, seconded by Eric Guillot. Motion carried. 9 ayes. 0 nays. <br />9. Discuss and act on funding request for Diamond Youth Baseball North Division Ozone 1 Regional <br />Tournament and Diamond Youth Baseball North Division 2 Ozone on June 291— July Pt. Based on the <br />scoring criteria a motion to approve $2150 for each was made by Cody Head, seconded by Misty Halcomb. <br />Motion carried. 9 ayes. 0 nays. <br />10. Paul Allen stated that he had pulled a pacer report for Eclipse and Kevn Fowler Concert on April 7-8, Sunday <br />over 2000 people and Monday over 4000. 46 states and 30 countries visited. Upcoming in May is Archery, <br />June is Jetski and 903 Concerts, and Tour de Paris in July. <br />11. Adjournment. <br />
