Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />January 2, 2024 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />JANUARY 2, 2024 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on January <br />2, 2024, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufinan St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, Alix Putnam, Ben Vaughan, alternate <br />Larry Walker and Carlton Cooper. <br />City Representatives: Robert Vine, Duke McGee, Jacie Sparks and <br />Stephanie Harris. <br />Absent: Lydia Fitzgerald <br />The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Alix Putnam, Vice Chairperson, <br />at 12: 01 p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (November 7, 2023) <br />Motion was made by Larry Walker, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve minutes for the <br />November 7, 2023 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Staff presentation and recommendation on Agenda item 4. <br />Duke McGee, Building Official; Assistant Director of Community Development, <br />presented the case, the City Staff's recommendation for approval of the lot width variance. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of D. Wayne Brown, regarding <br />variances to the City of Paris Lot Width Requirements, Section 9-201(1) on Lot 1, Block A, <br />of the Culbertson Park Addition being located at 1532 E Hearon. <br />Mrs. Putnam opened the public hearing. <br />D. Wayne Brown of 3732 Lamar Avenue, Paris TX 75460, spoke in favor of the request. <br />Mr. Brown also presented a photograph of the residential structure that was on the property <br />previously. There was discussion amongst the Board, Mr. Brown, and City Staff regarding <br />parking, required set -backs and the building structure. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made to approve the variance to the City of Paris Lot Width Requirements, <br />Sections 9-201(1), by Larry Walker, seconded by David Hamilton. Motion carried 5 ayes <br />— 0 nays. <br />
