<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />June 25, 2024 <br /> <br /> The Paris Visitors and Convention Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 4:00 p.m. on June <br />25, 2024, at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce board room, 8 West Plaza, Paris, TX. <br /> <br />Present: Board Members: Bradley Hilliard, Ryan Whitaker, Russell Jackson, Eric Guillot, Thomas McMonigle, <br />Sherrie Holbert, Mihir Pankaj and Monica Clement. <br /> <br />City Representatives: none <br /> <br />Absent: Board Members: Tim Walsworth, Bud Mistry, Brittany Miller, Cody Head, Misty Halcomb, Chadlee <br />Johnston, Bryan Hargis, and Trey Glascock <br /> <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br /> <br />Paul Allen called the meeting to order at 4:00p.m. <br /> <br />2. Citizens’ Forum. Welcome Mayor Mihir Pankaj. <br />There was no one present for the citizen’s forum. <br /> <br />3. Approve minutes from the meeting of May 20, 2024. A motion to approve was made by Eric Guillot <br />seconded by Thomas McMonigle. Motion carried. 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />4. Receive financial report from May 2024, by Russell Jackson. A motion to approve was made by Bradley <br />Hilliard, seconded by Ryan Whitaker. Motion carried. 7 ayes. 0 nays. <br /> <br />5. Discuss and act on funding request for Paris Balloon and Music Festival on September 13-14. Based on the <br />scoring criteria a motion to approve $2325 was made by Eric Guillot, seconded by Thomas McMonigle. <br />Motion carried. 7 ayes. O nays. <br /> <br />th <br />6. Discuss and act on funding request for 56 Bug Tussle Trek on September 28-29. Based on the scoring <br />criteria a motion to approve $1600 was made by Bradley Hilliard, seconded by Ryan Whitaker. Motion <br />carried. 7 ayes. O nays. <br /> <br />7. Paul Allen stated that a new sign will be going up on Clarksville street. Deadcat is working on new signage <br />rd <br />for 271N. Paris Games are still on for August 3. The first 903 concert hade 2800 people and second had <br />3800. The Veterans event had 2600. Tour de Paris in July. No meeting in July. <br /> <br />8. Adjournment. <br /> <br />There being no further business, A Motion to adjourn was made by Board Member Ryan Whitaker, seconded <br />by Board Member Bradley Hilliard.
