Item No. 17 <br />t <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem & City Council <br />FROM: Rob Vine, Interim City Manager <br />Gene Anderson, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Budget Approval <br />Schedule Public Hearings <br />DATE: August 26, 2024 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />During the August 12, 2024 City Council heard a presentation regarding the Proposed FY24/25 <br />Budget as prepared by the Former City Manager, Interim City Manager, Department Heads and <br />Staff. The Interim City Manager and Finance Director issued a Memorandum summarizing the <br />Proposed FY 24/25 Budget on August 7, 2024 which was summarized and presented at the August <br />12th Council Meeting. The Proposed FY24/25 Budget is for October 1, 2024 — September 30, <br />2025. <br />The City Council conducted a budget workshop on August 19, 2024, and August 22, 2024, <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: <br />The City Council has rasied questions during the workshops and individual meetingsand staff have <br />attempted to provide answers and additional information as requested. If there is a question that <br />has not yet been answered, please let us know and we will get the answer to the Council. The City <br />Council has the authority to request edits tonight. This agenda item is dedicated to further <br />discussing the budget, asking questions, making any edits the Council deems appropriate, and <br />preparing it for the following agenda items where the City will approve resolutions declaring a <br />Property Tax Rate and Public Hearings for the Proposed FY24/25 Budget and Property Tax Rate. <br />Depending on the types of changes made by the City Council tonight (if any), staff may need to <br />adjust the next agenda items to account for the change in the proposed Property Tax Rate. City <br />Staff might be able to make that adjustment tonight if a short recess is granted. <br />
