MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD 107 EAST KAUFMAN STREET PARIS. TEXAS THURSDAY MAY 16,2024,5:30 P.M. 1. The Airport Advisory Board was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Airport Manager Paul Strahan. Members present: Scott Jackson and Jeffrey Nichols. City Representatives: Councilman Gary Savage, Assistant City Manager Robert Vine, and Airport Manager Paul Strahan 2. Citizen's Input. No one spoke during the citizen's forum. 3. Approval of Minutes The May 16, 2024, minutes needed approval, motion made to approve the minutes by Jeffrey Nichols and seconded by Scott Jackson. 4. Receive Report from the Airport Manager. • Entry Sign to the Terminal Update Airport received the entry way signs for both the front and rear entrances of the terminal. This project overall was around five months. The airport selected SCS Graphics located here in Paris for the sign and installation. Since the terminal has never had an entry way sign, the airport was able to use the RAMP Grant through TXDOT to get 90/% of the total invoice covered. • Fly — In Report Unfortunately the fly — in was cancelled due to weather. The airport has tried to have the fly — in around April or May before the summer heat sets in but this has been unsuccessful due to weather. Going forward the airport will see if a fly — in can be done in September / October time frame. This option will help avoid rain and the summer heat. • Runway Project Update The progression of the runway project is going smoothly. TXDOT projected the project to start on July 5t' but the airport is going to suggest the project start on July 80' in order to get the airport through the July 0' weekend. The runway project will consist of the runway receiving new asphalt, the main taxiway receiving a seal coat, the taxiway connectors and main apron will receive a crack seal job. New paint will be the last item to complete the overall project. TXDOT received two bids for the project, bids needed to be submitted to TXDOT by May 8`h, 2024. TXDOT held a Zoom meeting in Austin, Tx to read the submitted bids. After reading both bids, Ambrozi Contracting won the bid and will be completing all of the work for the project.
