Vine <br />SUBJECT: Receive Presentation on the transition to CARDS for the Commercial Solid <br />Waste Services and Discuss <br />DATE: September 23, 2024 <br />BACKGROUND: On September 20, 2023, the City entered into a Municipal Solid Waste <br />Collection, Transportation and Disposal Contract (for residential and commercial) with CARDS. <br />This agreement listed CARDS as the sole residential collector of solid waste beginning February <br />1, 2024, and designated them as the sole commercial collector beginning on September 1, 2024. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: CARDS is in the process of establishing their commercial services per the <br />agreement and will provide an update on their progress. <br />This item also includes an opportunity for Council Members to discuss the transition, ask questions <br />of the CARDS representative, address concerns, and share information related to commercial <br />collection for the purpose of obtaining the expected level of service outlined in the initial <br />agreement. <br />BUDGET: Discussion Only <br />RECOMMENDATION: Presentation and discussion only. <br />
