Item No. 14 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Rose Beverly, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO FILL ONE VACANT POSITION ON THE <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br />DATE: February 10, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted <br />by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in <br />June. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Tylesha Moseley was appointed to serve on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission with a term beginning on July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2026. Since that time, <br />Ms. Moseley has resigned from the Commission leaving one vacant position. <br />Over the last several months, City staff has advertised the vacancy through local media and on <br />the City website. On January 30, 2025, staff received an application from Paula Portugal. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Paula Portugal to fill the vacant position on the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. <br />
